영어회화 TIP/ It could be that + 문장

 

 

 

 

 

 

보통 could 나 조동사를 사용해서 ~그럴 수도 있다라는 추측의 문장을 만들어내는데

 

이렇게 !

 

내말이 틀릴 수도 있어, 내가 잘 못알고 있는 것일 수 도 있어

I could be wrong,  I could be wrong about that

 

그건 네말이 맞을 수도 있겠다, 그래 네 말이 맞을 수도 있겠다.

You could be right about that, Yeah, You could be right

 

 

그럴 수도 있지

Yeah, It could be, That could be the case

 

 

 

I don't want to take any chances
I don't want to take any risks

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

" It could be + (full sentence)" 의 형식을 사용하면

간편하게 추측을 활용한 조동사 형태를 사용할 수 있다 ! 

 

 

 

It could be that + ( full sentence )

full sentence 에는 사실 일 수도 있는 내용을 넣는다 !

 

물론 그녀가 그냥 피곤한 거일 수도 있는데,

Of course, She might just be tired
Of course, She could just be tired 

이라는 약간 복잡한 듯한 문장을 (조동사를 쓰면서 복잡하게 느껴짐)

It could be that she's just tired

It could be + She is tired 으로 간편하게 바꿀 수 있다 !

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EXAMPLES

그사람이 까먹었을 수도 있으니까 네가 연락을 해봐.

He might have just forgotten. So just call him.

Call him because he could have just forgotten.

It could be that he just forgot

 

 

* 해석에서 약간의 차이가 있다 !

 He could have forgotten
-->It could be + He forgot

조동사 + 현재완료시제 를 It could be + 과거 시제로 바꿀 수 있는 간단한 방법 !

 

 

He could have just been afraid.

He could have just gotten scared.

-->

It could be that he was just nervous.

It could be that he was just scared.
