하지만 한국어 뜻으로 기억하지 말자

got so bad 보다 as bad as they did 을 쓰면

그 안좋은 일에 대해서 더 조심스럽게 얘기하는 뉘앙스 more respectful

I'm really sorry (that) whatever happened to you happened

( I'm really sorry that happened to you )

simple version 보다 이런 뉘앙스를 담고 있음

You may not fully understand what happened to that person.

However whatever that is.. I'm sorry whatever happened to you happened

( more respectful...?)

( = It is what it is )

Something was inevitable 했다는 톤을 담고 있음

Don't translate it into Korean.

In a lot of ways, it just make more sense to learn in English.
